We still have a long way to go
It has been a whole week since Jessica's surgery, and the recovery has definitely been a very slow process. The biggest thing we are struggling with right now is the anti-seizure medicine, which has got her brain so slowed down right now that her speech is slurred and she's having trouble doing the simple things we all take for granted. In a few days we get to cut the dose in half and a week after that, cut it in half again.
Otherwise, it appears that she is doing very well. Her incision is healing nicely, she has really good memory and awareness, although she has trouble remembering what day of the week it is, but I'm having trouble with that too. She is still having headaches, and she is sleeping almost all of the time, but we were told it would be like this for a week or so. We're still trying to get her to eat more, but it takes so much energy and concentration for her. I finally decided on and bought some new living room furniture, which arrives tomorrow, so hopefully we can get her a little more comfortable.
So keep praying! We are going to make it, we just have to let her body heal without trying to rush it. I am just so thankful we are not recovering from surgery after a ruptured aneurysm, which I understand to be much more difficult.
If you want to pray for specific things, pray that:

If you want to pray for specific things, pray that:
- Jessica will get used to the anti-seizure drug, and the side effects won't get worse
- Jessica will continue to get more energy to eat and walk around some
- The kids will have peace about this part of our family's life (we think it is getting tougher on Danica)
- Jessica's mom (who has been an incredible help since Jessica got her first headache) will stay healthy and stay strong mentally, spiritually, and emotionally
- Matthew will continue to be the rock of the family, and that he will get good sleep at night and be able to stay focused on all he needs to do to help his bride get better
